En la premisa de partida hay mucha maldad: un policía corrupto la caga en un robo de una carga de cocaína y los mafiosos que la trasladaban secuestran a su hijo. Este arranque, lo más potente del filme, se va difuminando hasta convertirse en parodia con niño, malotes y madre de por medio.

A lot of the film’s enjoyment rides on Foxx’s star power, who delivers a committed performance here. It’s thin but taut and at a lean 95 minutes, it zips along at a propulsive, entertaining clip.

Less sleepless, more insomnia cure. For all its attempts at action, it’s a rote, dull crime thriller with little fresh to offer.

"Sleepless" is one of those movies that needed to be a lot better or a lot worse to make much of an impression. This story of a Las Vegas police officer trying to recover his kidnapped son from bad guys is frustratingly not-terrible. The action sequences, the characterizations, the performances, all could have come together to form a dandy example of what used to be a called a B-movie
